The Nightly Self- Flagellation

Not much blogging yesterday, sad to say. Oddly enough my community college where I'm scooping up a few night classes has a spring break next week. And, well, I'm not exactly heading down to Daytona or whatever but I figured I've been a bit fed up with things lately and I could use a break. So what better time to kick back and relax with a few caipirihinas? Almost had to go with mojitos but I found some good cachaca the other day and while you can make a little country girl with vodka (Which is how I first had one – looking out over the rooftops on the fire-escape of a Berlin loft at some god foresaken hour of the night with an actual Brazillian by my side. He swore it was the best drink ever and I'm pretty sure he's right.) it's just not the same. The real trick, though, is in the ice which needs to be crushed into small cubes. Not quite as fine as, say, a snowcone but in that area. I like mine with just a bit of sweetened condensed milk on the top instead of the customary sugar but I'm weird like that.

So, today I woke up with a hangover and, unfortunately, while I can't really afford to be on vacation, it seems like I still feel like I am. So, no bloggy for you today. Instead, I've decided to make a concerted effrot to reach UAX. As well as to practice my tail off for the upcoming match. Looks like we'll be having it on Saturday or Monday, depending on how the schedule works out which gives us a few days to prepare. Personally, I'm going to be taking advantage of that.

Condensed milk in that drink is really odd, bordering on criminal.

I actually hadn't had caipirinhas until a few years ago. Bizarrely, it was in a restaurant in Wales, of all places. Admittedly, it was a Brazilian restaurant, but still. Limey and delicious.

One of those drinks that doesn't let you know that it packs a serious punch until you try to get up, though.
