Low Blood Sugar

I don't know what it is but I'm not feeling it today. Just been out of sorts. I tend to think it's because I've been staying up late to GvG and all the past few days. But, eh, I'll put up with that for a while.

Anyhow, don't forget, as Mr. Yglesias reminds us, that today is Jonah Goldberg day. Normally, I think I'd try and get worked up about any number of things here. There's a lot, after all. From the fact that Mr. Goldberg, like so many others, was wrong and smugly so. Or the kind of myopic idiocy it takes to reduce the blood, sacrifice, and tragedy of so many into betting fodder. Or the childishness of saying those winnings would go to the USO if he won and the Al-Aqsa Martyr's Brigade if Mr. Cole had, somehow, managed to best his superior insight. Or that he's dodging any responsibility for his gentleman's wager by claiming it wasn't accepted yet, at the same time, if he'd been on the winning side, so to speak, he'd be screaming bloody murder about Mr. Cole not coughing up the money. But really, all I can think of is that my local paper carries Mr. Goldberg's column from time to time and that it was one particular column of his – defending, I think, the right of the President to torture or invade our privacy or, you know, there's really a lot of indefensible things that the administration has done over the years that the conservative machine has had to spin, isn't there? Well, whatever it was, it left me shaking with so much anger that I canceled my subscription on the spot – I refuse to read any newspaper that even partially endorses that kind of thing by putting it on the op-ed page.

Oh, and I was going to mention something about the whole Pelosi military jet thing (Basically, she's the third most important person in the government now. 2nd in line to the Presidency and all. Why, exactly, if we're all supposed to be so frightened of terrorists coming into our homes and rearranging our furniture wouldn't we want her to have as much protection as possible. It's also, you know, the law for the Speaker to have a military escort and plane now.) but seeing this post by Mr. Yglesias gives me pause.

Anyway, I'm out of sorts, so I'm going to call it an early night and get my PvP on. Have to train up for the upcoming tourney and all.

Outlook: Funky.
