Making up for the Long Post

Game time!

I am not making a post.

This post does not refer to the previous posts.

Nor does it refer to any subsequent posts.

This post is about nothing.

This is not a post at all.

This is a pipe:

Now stop thinking about the white elephant.

All fun and games aside, I’m just stunned that Magritte didn’t place higher. The Treachery of Images seems to say everything that the Fountain does yet says it in a much more elegant way. Then again, I’d forgotten that Fountain predated the Treachery of Images by a good ten to twelve years.

It just seems like a precursor, to me, because that’s just what a watershed nailing a urinal to a wall really was. Instead, the Belgian with the penchant for men in bowler hats came later. He was the subsequent iteration, the sophisticated refinement, not the other way around.

Just for the record, if they’d asked me I probably would have gone with Duchamp as well. But Degas would have placed rather higher than not even rating a mention. Kinda miffed about that particular oversight. And no melty clocks?
