Colin Powell Steps Up To The Big Boy Table

Damn. Like a lot of other left-wing wackos, I don't think I'll ever be able to forgive Colin Powell for his part in misleading the nation to a fruitless war. And I think endorsements, like lawn signs, are highly overrated. But, when it comes to moderate Republicans they don't come much bigger. And, damn, it's about time a prominent conservative got on the national airwaves and starting talking like this:

The points he makes about Islam about halfway in are just beautiful.

“I'm also troubled by, not what Senator McCain says, but what members of the say,and it is permitted to be said: such things as, "Well, you know that Mr. Obama is a Muslim"

Well, the correct answer is, "he's not a Muslim. He is a Christian. He's always been a Christian." But the really right answer is: "What if he is?" Is there something wrong being a Muslim in this country? The answer is "no"; that's not America. Is there something wrong with a seven year old Muslim American kid believing that he or she could be president?
Yet I have heard senior members of my own party drop the suggestion, "he is a Muslim and he might be associated with terrorists." This is not the way we should be doing it in America.”
Inspiring words that are too seldom spoken.
