It's His Go-To Move

Faced with the dilema of how to replace the living flak jacket that was Alberto Gonzales, the president could either 1) pick a moderate, middle-of-the-road candidate in the hopes of repairing bridges and who might get an easier confirmation. Or 2) pick a ultra-conservative flunky who'd piss off the Congress and raise the hackles of every liberal outside the beltway. Which one do you think he went with?

Yeah, it's Bush. He'd never pass up an opportunity to flip Democrats the bird.

Well, maybe it will play out differently this time.
