Looks Like I Picked the Wrong Week to Quit Sniffing Glue

My inaugural Lloyd Bridges Memorial “You've Just Driven Me To Substance Abuse” Award goes out to the Congressional Democrats. For rolling over and exposing their soft underbellies on the wire-tap law, they've not only dealt a serious blow to our vaunted civil liberties but to my personal sobriety. They like to sign so many blank checks, I'm thinking of sending them my bar tab.

Johnny, what can you make out of this?

It's like we're back in 2003. How the hell do you hand the Bush administration, Bush, that kind of power? Even for only six months, you think he's actually going to be responsible with it? It's just torpedo any hope of raking them over the coals with the Gonzales thing, for one. And just shreds their image – they can't get anything done on Iraq but when the President comes to them, hat in hand, and says this time, he'll be responsible? Oh sure, give him everything he asks for and get nothing in return? Unbelievable.
