Guild Wars: Weapon Rits and the Tournament

One thing I liked seeing in the recent tournament was all the weapon rits. Obviously, the order of the day is hex pressure builds but they find a spot in either split teams or more balanced teams with several physical characters. I'm pretty keen on the idea myself as I've long been a fan of support characters – characters that make everyone around them better. However, at this point, I'm not quite sure if they're worth it.

The thing about a support character is that you need to do enough to justify not bringing another character type. You need to make other characters better in order to make up for the fact that you're not going to be doing much, say, attacking yourself. On the other hand you can't boost those other characters too much or else they get too powerful. Not that you don't want to boost them through the roof just that the game's designers don't tolerate that kind of imbalance for long.

So, I don't know if things like Warmonger's or Splinter Weapons are doing enough to the characters they're applied to in order to make up for the fact that you're not bringing, say, a Mesmer. Or that Weapon of Remedy is versatile enough to justify not bringing a full blown Monk.
