Guild Wars: The Rebalancing In the Offing

Flying out the door here but, wow, check out the upcoming balance changes.

They're not in yet as far as I can tell and lots of things to go over but some highlights.

  • They actually changed Soul Reaping. Now it'll only proc once every 5 seconds. Not quite switching it to regeneration instead of flat gain but almost as good. Expect whining
  • And they might have fixed GLE abuse, too. It's now linked to Energy Storage. I'd rather have seen a scaling of the number of spells it affected rather than the energy boost but, eh.
  • Pet controls means for some nerfing to pet attacks, especially the interrupts.
  • ZB just got nerfed. Cue wailing and gnashing of teeth. Also, some moderately useful hex removal got better which doesn't really change anything just gives you more options to play with.
  • Recall is getting a looking at. The change might actually work to keep it playable while not abusive.
  • Damage additive skills like Conjure Flames and Anthem of Envy got a boost. That's led to scary things in the the past but we'll see now.
  • I think I heart Anthem of Fury now.
  • Um, all the Forms except Melandru's just got a boost. Melandru's drops more of its health bonus but the real reason to pop that off is the condition immunity, the health is just icing on the cake.
  • Looks like they're concerned that MoR makes for nasty spamming. No one saw that coming at all.
  • Crippling Slash looks halfway decent now. Not good but not completely trash anymore. Dwarven Battle Stance, likewise.
All in all a good batch of changes. Should make things interesting for a while, at least.
