MLB Blogging: Grr But No Ate
The Tigers lost - again - yesterday. Falling 4-0 to the Royals. This is an even more troublesome defeat than the Opening Day collapse. Rather than the team's expected weaknesses playing out it was, instead, their supposed strengths that failed to make a difference. No offense and Rogers looked poor on the mound.
It's still only two games in the books and I expected the Royals to be better than many people thought. But letting these early games slip away can come back to haunt you down the line. At a certain point, it is time to panic. And that time grows increasingly closer because - and I can't stress this enough - all the pressure is on this team to not just succeed but excel. If they look this bad against the also struggling White Sox over the weekend then, yeah, it's time to start with the arm flailing.
